The short clip has an eerie David Lynch-ian feel as shots of the epic Pacific Northwest landscape are mixed with clips of the cast discussing rumors about the show’s imminent revival. “Revisiting all this territory, there’s a freshness to it, there’s a lightness to it,” said MacLachlan, who is reprising his role as Agent Dale Cooper. “We knew it was going to be something special, we just didn’t know in what form, or how.”
Cast members teased the multi-faceted next chapter in the Twin Peaks saga. “In my opinion, it discovers, in a poetic way, the whole human experience,” said James Marshall (a.k.a. James Hurley), while Miguel Ferrer (FBI forensic specialist Albert Rosenfield) added “It’s a big cast, it’s a big story, big things happen.”
Along with many returning actors, the Twin Peaks reboot will boast a slew of newcomers including Michael Cera, Monica Bellucci, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jim Belushi, Tim Roth, Robert Forster, Ashley Judd, Amanda Seyfried and Lynch vets Laura Dern, Balthazar Getty and Naomi Watts. Creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have also tapped several musicians including Trent Reznor, Eddie Vedder, Sky Ferreira and Sharon Van Etten.
