As Decker creators and stars Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington prepare for another season of the web series-turned-Adult Swim show about a conservative CIA agent and his codebreaking partner, the duo stopped by Rolling Stone’s office to turn their attention to music.
Decker: Unsealed premieres Sunday, June 4th at midnight local time on Adult Swim. While the show is more overtly political than the surreal genius of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, Heidecker admits to a similar ramshackle feel. “There’s no need to prep,” Heidecker told Paste of Decker. “I don’t bother memorizing the lines. It helps to create that feeling of watching somebody struggling to recall stuff. We’ll also go off-script and rant a bit to get everyone confused.”
Heidecker’s recent musical ventures have found the comedian taking on Donald Trump. Earlier this year, he mocked the singer’s sunny getaway resort in “Mar-A-Lago” and condemned him in “Cooked Chinese Chicken (Is Coming Our Way).” In April, he teamed with Father John Misty to make fun of the way conservatives view liberals on “I Am a Cuck,” sung to the melody of Simon & Garfunkel’s “I Am a Rock.”
