Watch Jon Stewart Call Out Pro Wrestler Seth Rollins

‘The Daily Show’ host fires back at the WWE superstar for disrespecting his show. Is a match at ‘WrestleMania’ next?

On Monday night’s edition of WWE Raw, Seth Rollins took a moment to address a real-world controversy (no, not that one): Jon Stewart’s decision to leave The Daily Show.

Seems Mr. Money in the Bank, who already considers himself to be “the future of WWE,” has set his sights on replacing Stewart as host – and, in a development that comes as a shock to no one familiar with the cocky heel’s antics – he thinks he’d do a better job than J.Stew ever did in his 16 years behind the desk.

“Right now, I am the most talented performer in the entire world. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want,” Rollins told the crowd. “Hell, if I wanted, I could become president. Or I could take over as host of The Daily Show for Jon Stewart and make that thing actually watchable.”

They were fighting words if ever we’ve heard them, yet Stewart appeared unwilling to take the bait (having a pair of Peabody Awards tends to make one impervious to pro-wrestling feuds). But that all changed on Thursday, when J.Stew responded to Rollins with a scathing message of his own.

“Seth Rollins, you’ve made a lot of mistakes in your life: Being a turncoat to the Shield, being a toady for the Authority, not being able to choose which color your hair should be – but this is the biggest mistake you ever made,” Stewart says. “You just stepped in a world of hurt, my friend. I’m coming for you Rollins, and you’re gonna see it: 160 pounds of dynamite.”

Stewart would then add the caveat that “my bone density is not what it used to be,” and instead declared himself “160 pounds of wood, like a soft wood.”

Heel heat! Soon after Stewart called out Rollins, the WWE superstar not only responded on Twitter, he invited Stewart to join him in the ring:

Oh snap! Does that mean we’ll get Stewart vs. Rollins in a Steel Cage at next month’s WrestleMania 31? Well, considering WWE doesn’t have any plans to bring Randy Orton back to TV any time soon, Rollins doesn’t have anyone else to square off with at the Super Bowl of Sports Entertainment. Let’s make this happen!
