Watch Jimmy Kimmel Weigh in on Oscar Nominations’ Surprises, Snubs

“I’m glad ‘Shape of Water’ got so many nominations … finally, Hollywood is recognizing a monster that isn’t Harvey Weinstein,” Academy Awards host says

Academy Awards host Jimmy Kimmel weighed in on this year’s Oscar nominees Wednesday on his late-night show.

“I am hosting the Oscars again this year, and I’m excited. I cannot wait to find out which movie accidentally wins Best Picture,” Kimmel said, referring to last year’s infamous Moonlight/La La Land fiasco.

Kimmel acknowledged The Shape of Water, which racked up an industry-leading 13 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and “Outstanding Achievement in Fish-Penis Design.” “I’m glad Shape of Water got so many nominations … finally, Hollywood is recognizing a monster that isn’t Harvey Weinstein,” the host quipped.

Kimmel also discussed some of the Oscar snubs and surprises, including the first-ever female Best Cinematography nominee and Kobe Bryant, who is “now the tallest person ever nominated for Animated Short.” As for snubs, Kimmel pointed to Wonder Woman, The Post‘s Steven Spielberg – “Back to the Kinko’s management program for him” – and the year’s “best picture,” a photograph of Donald Trump staring glasses-less into the eclipse.

Jimmy Kimmel Live also dropped a new Oscars promo where the host seeks therapy due to last year’s Best Picture disaster:
