Watch Extended Trailer for HBO’s Rock Hall 2015 Special

Every speech and superjam from the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will air on May 30th

The 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony won’t air on HBO until May 30th, but the network has unveiled an extended trailer from the all-star event. This year’s ceremony, held on April 18th, honored Green Day, Ringo Starr, Lou Reed, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Bill Withers and the “5” Royales.

“You can’t get in until 25 years after you’ve had your first hit. Well I’m way passed that,” Starr jokes in the extended trailer. “But here we are, peace and love.” Starr’s Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney inducted the drummer into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a moving speech, while guitarist Joe Walsh stopped by during the performance portion of Starr’s induction. “I’m here because Ringo is my brother-in-law, and so I’m family, and I’m here to share the family’s joy,” Walsh says.

“Green Day belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for sure,” Pete Wentz, who along with his Fall Out Boy bandmates welcomed the Dookie crew into the Rock Hall, tells HBO. “I think they’ve defined themselves over 20 years. The legacy is insane.” In addition to the incredible list of inductees, this year’s ceremony also featured performances by Miley Cyrus, Beck, Karen O, Gary Clark Jr., Zac Brown, Patti Smith and many more.

The HBO special will also feature all of the star-studded jam sessions from the induction ceremony, from Dave Grohl, Miley Cyrus, Tommy James and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts rocking out to “Crimson & Clover” to Stevie Wonder, John Legend and Bill Withers singing “Lean On Me” to the ceremony-ending superjam. “At this show, you’re getting the best of many generations played by some of the best, it’s pretty incredible,” Legend says of the Rock Hall induction ceremony.
