The Daily Show‘s first ever “Third Month Mania” competition ended Monday with correspondents Hasan Minhaj and Roy Wood Jr. unveiling the winner of the hotly-contested “Greatest Donald Trump Tweet” bracket.
Before announcing the winner, Minhaj and Wood Jr. recounted a few tournament highlights, from Trump’s incredulous 2013 musing that Steve Jobs’ wife was dating someone new after the tech mogul’s death and a 2014 claim that ABC’s Black-ish was racist, and that people would be furious if there was a show called “White-ish.”
“By the way, they don’t need to call shows White-ish,” Minhaj explained. “They have other names, like Frasier.“
But the big winner, the greatest Trump tweet of all time was a short note sent on June 4th, 2014 in the early hours of the morning: “Are you allowed to impeach a president for gross incompetence?”
Wood Jr. and Minhaj then excitedly revealed that The Daily Show was awarding the winning tweet $1 million. Though, technically, as the two explained to host Trevor Noah, the money would be held in a trust for the tweet that the two correspondents would manage. “Trevor we gotta go, man,” Wood Jr. said. “Our foundation is having a board meeting in the Cayman Islands.”
