The gag trailer shows Grande and a friend making goofy faces via the messaging app, adding a cartoonish filter that tweaks the singer’s face with puppy features. But the playful vibe becomes sinister when Grande’s silliness becomes an obsession. “I love being a dog,” she says. “I’m so cute.” By clip’s end, that freakishly long dog tongue is permanent. “Because some snaps are forever.”
Grande performed the slinky R&B-rock “Dangerous Woman” with no stage theatrics – only her octave-jumping voice and a four-piece packing band. She added soulful ad-libs at the climax, as her guitarist ripped out a bluesy, psychedelic solo.
The singer released the single in March and debuted its moody, sensual music video later that month. The 15-track Dangerous Woman also includes previously released “Into You” and collaborations with Lil Wayne, Future, Nicki Minaj and Macy Gray.
