One of the U.K.’s most addictive and brutal reality shows, Just Tattoo of Us, will be coming to the U.S. Jersey Shore‘s Snooki and Younger‘s Nico Tortorella will host the American version of the series.
Now in its third season, Just Tattoo of Us is one of MTV International’s most successful series. On it, pairs of friends, couples or family members are put through a test of trust where they design tattoos for one another and then receive the permanent ink. They are blindfolded while getting the tattoo done and only see the final product at the end of the show, which often includes embarrassing or graphic designs. (One man was marked for life with the names of various sexually transmitted diseases, while another received a tattoo of himself naked with his belly button as his rectum.) The U.S. version will also air on MTV and will premiere in April, according to Deadline.
Just Tattoo of Us joins Love Island as the latest U.K. reality series to have an adaptation ordered for an American adaptation. Love Island, which recently wrapped its fourth season on ITV2, hit series-high ratings and has become a massive hit overseas, where it airs six nights a week. On it, young single people must couple up with one another or risk being eliminated either by their fellow islanders or viewers. New islanders are introduced every few days. CBS will air the American version at an undisclosed date.
