‘Stranger Things’: See Creepy Season Two Teaser

Kid crew dons ‘Ghostbusters’ outfits in clip promoting Netflix sci-fi/horror series

Netflix offered a creepy first glance at Stranger Things Season Two with a teaser clip aired during the Super Bowl. Opening with a vintage Eighties Eggo commercial, a reference to Eleven’s favorite breakfast food, the brief TV spot shows the trio of pre-teen protagonists zooming around town on their bicycles while dressed in Ghostbusters gear.

The preview sets an ominous mood in its 36 seconds, teasing hellish drawings, an exasperated Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) opening her eyes and a fiery horizon. “The world is turning upside down,” the show promises. Season Two hits Netflix on Halloween 2017.

Stranger Things hype has been brewing since Netflix renewed the acclaimed sci-fi/horror series in August. Many diehard fans hope the show will avenge the death of bespectacled side character Barb, and the show’s David Harbour (Chief Hopper) promised they will make good on that wish.

“The Internet rage over Barb!” the actor told Jimmy Fallon in October. “Shannon [Purser] is amazing, but the character is in like two episodes barely, and the Internet rage at Chief Hopper over not caring about Barb – I’m sorry! I had a little boy I had to save!” And while Harbour did go on to reassure Fallon that the Barb storyline will be addressed in Season Two, he added: “If you think Barb’s coming back, she’s fully dead.”

Last week, Harbour delivered a passionate, anti-Trump speech at the SAG Awards, telling the creative community “to battle against fear, self-centeredness and exclusivity of our predominately narcissistic culture” following Donald Trump’s executive order targeting Muslims.
