Stephen Colbert Moderates All-Trump Debate on ‘Late Show’

Candidate ditched Thursday’s GOP debate due to his feud with Megyn Kelly

With Donald Trump refusing to attend Fox News’ GOP Debate because of his feud with Megyn Kelly, The Late Show‘s Stephen Colbert took it upon himself to “grab” the 24 million viewers that tune in to watch the presidential candidate’s debate antics with his 2016 Top Tremendous All-You-Can Trump Luxury Presidential Debate.

“Tonight the leading Republican faces off against, arguably, his greatest opponent: himself,” Colbert states at the beginning of his “mono-a-moutho” debate. Using clips from Trump’s interviews, campaign speeches and past debates, Colbert shows the discrepancy in Trump’s strong opinions while asking him about Ted Cruz, Iowa and Hillary Clinton.

Colbert then took questions from “everyday Americans,” including one from a Megyn K. “who lives in 2011” and had interviewed Trump after he criticized debate ditchers in 2011. During that interview, Trump told Kelly that she was doing a “great job” moderating the GOP debates. Colbert then asked Trump for a counterpoint, showing a more recent interview where the candidate states that he has “zero respect for Megyn Kelly.” Colbert ended the “all-Trump” debate by thanking both Trumps for “being just as divided as this country is.”
