See Henry Rollins, Stephen Colbert Growl ‘Carol of the Bells’

Talk-show host introduces segment as ‘A Very Rollins Christmas’

Henry Rollins stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert recently to spread holiday cheer the only way he knows how: loudly. The talk-show host and former Black Flag barker celebrated what Colbert dubbed a "Very Rollins Christmas" by donning "C" and "R" holiday sweaters respectively and beginning with Colbert singing "Carol of the Bells." The band amps up when Rollins takes his turn, as he snarls into the mic and bangs his arm in the air as if he's ringing Hell's bells. It's uproarious, raucous and rocking all the same time.

This performance is not the first time Rollins has dabbled in yuletide greetings. In 1991, he read the poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" like one of his spoken-word performances for an Australian compilation called A Lump of Coal. Helicopters whir by, gunshots ring out and car alarms sound and resound throughout it. By the end of it, not a creature is stirring.
