Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s self-destructive, sex-addicted Fleabag tries to find salvation, or something close to it, in the new trailer for Season Two of Fleabag, returning to Amazon Prime Video May 17th. Season Two finds Fleabag doing her best to improve her stock in life, suffering through dinners with her family, attending therapy, exercising and, most impressively, turning down sex. Her journey towards self-actualization even takes an unexpected twist when she meets the Priest, played by Andrew Scott.
The new trailer is packed with outrageous gags, one-liners and the show’s quintessential shattering of the fourth wall. Over beers, Fleabag tells the Priest that she read his book — meaning the Bible — and asks if she should become a Catholic. “No don’t do that,” he replies. “I like that you believe in a meaningless existence.”
Season Two of Fleabag also stars Olivia Colman, Sian Clifford, Bill Paterson, Brett Gelman, Jenny Rainsford, Hugh Skinner and Hugh Dennis with special guest stars Fiona Shaw and Kristin Scott Thomas. Along with Season Two of Fleabag, Waller Bridge’s other hit show, Killing Eve — which she writes and produces — kicked off its second season last Sunday.
