Julia Luis-Dreyfus’ Selina Meyer takes one last shot at the presidency in the new trailer for the final season of Veep.
The clip finds Meyer and her team trying to court voters while simultaneously belittling them. “This entire country is getting more disgusting by the second,” Meyer complains, prompting her strategist, Kent Davison (Gary Cole) to reply, “That’s a demo we’re targeting mostly on Facebook.”
Elsewhere in the trailer, Congressman Jonah Ryan (Timmothy Simons) tries to secure reelection with a strong anti-vaxer platform, while Meyer’s daughter Catherine (Sarah Sutherland) grapples with postpartum depression via an outrageous haircut. The clip also boasts one of Meyer’s signature screeds as she preps a speech with her personal aide, Gary (Tony Hale): “I was a game-changer, I took a dump on the glass ceiling, and I shaved my muff in the sink of the old boys’ club!”
The seventh and final season of Veep will premiere March 31st on HBO. While Season Six wrapped in 2017, the show’s return was delayed after Louis-Dreyfus was diagnosed with breast cancer. Last October, the actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where she confirmed that she had beaten the disease.
