The Season Five clip opens with the pair discovering that their children have conspired to sell their beloved beach house, partly out of concern for their age and health. When Frankie’s (Tomlin) son, Coyote (Ethan Embry), asks them what they would do if either fell or had a stroke while alone, Grace (Fonda) sets the tone for the new season with a shrug: “Fuck it!”
The trailer finds Grace and Frankie striving to take that mentality to heart, while also channeling it towards some greater purpose. Grace and Frankie check out a Buddhist community, learn how to take a proper selfie and at one point, Frankie even downs a couple weed gummies with her ex-husband Robert (Martin Sheen).
Grace and Frankie returns to Netflix January 18th. The series also stars Sam Waterston, June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker and Baron Vaughn.
