‘Frank Underwolf’ Huffs and Puffs in ‘Sesame Street’ ‘House of Cards’ Parody

The three little pigs get their revenge in “House of Bricks,” a send-up of political thriller

Frank Underwood’s ruthless quest for political supremacy on House of Cards was crossed with the timeless saga of the the “Three Little Pigs” in a delightful, and educational, Sesame Street parody sketch called “House of Bricks.”

The bit perfectly pokes fun at the high stakes melodrama of House of Cards, with Frank Underwolf divulging to the camera his nefarious plan to blow down the pigs’ houses and overtake the strongest of them all: the White Brick House. Underwolf also rattles off plenty of silly “Three Little Pigs”-inspired jokes delivered like classic Underwood-isms like, “In this town, you have to know which way the wind is blowing — and right now it’s about to get very windy” and, “Some people say there’s too much pork in this town — I could not agree more!”

After taking down the straw and stick houses — and offering a quick lesson in subtraction — Underwolf sets his sites on the White Brick House, which the three little pigs surrender far more quickly than expected. But while Underwolf basks in his glory, the trio huff and puff and blow the house down. “This wasn’t a house of bricks at all,” one pig exclaims, setting up the best gag of them all: “It was just a house — of cards!”

The actual House of Cards returns to Netflix for its third season on February 27th and finds the Underwoods in complete control of the Executive Branch. Not much is known about what’s to come, but a few plot points were leaked earlier this month when Season Three accidentally went live on Netflix. Despite the spoilers floating around online, House of Cards creator and showrunner Beau Willimon did not seem phased by the online chatter.

“There’s plenty of speculation on the Web in terms of what people gathered from watching those first 20 minutes or people who scrubbed ahead to subsequent episodes,” Willimon told The Hollywood Reporter. “And all I will say is some of that speculation is right and some of it is wrong. But I won’t tell you which is which.”
