The Honeymooners, the famous 1950s sitcom starring Jackie Gleason and Audrey Meadows, is getting a modern reboot on CBS, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The original series focused on the home life of Ralph Kramden (Gleason) a New York City bus driver and his wife Alice (Meadows) along with their amusing neighbors, Ed and Trixie Norton (Art Carney and Joyce Randolph). The new version of The Honeymooners will revolve around two couples, but with a twist: one of the pairs will have just remarried after getting a divorce four years earlier.

Bob Kushell, executive producer and writer of The Honeymooners reboot, previously oversaw ABC’s relaunch of Muppets, which was canceled after one season. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum are also producers on the new series who previously helped re-launch another classic, The Odd Couple.

The Honeymooners debuted as a sketch in 1951 on the variety show Cavalcade of Stars. When Gleason started his own program, The Jackie Gleason Show, he brought the sketch with him. The Honeymooners became a half-hour sitcom in October 1955 and it ran in that format for 39 episodes.

In 2005, Paramount released a Honeymooners remake movie starring Cedric the Entertainer and Gabrielle Union, which performed poorly at the box office. The CBS reboot is the first modern attempt since that film.
