One night after Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiered its first short snippet from the film, Jimmy Kimmel Live! dedicated its entire episode to the upcoming blockbuster. The bulk of the film's main cast – Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver – as well as director J.J. Abrams took turns sitting down with the late-night host, but the highlight of the episode came in a pre-taped segment where Harrison Ford reconciled with his estranged co-pilot Chewbacca thanks to Adele's "Hello."
In the sketch, Kimmel is tasked with talking a despondent Chewbacca off the ledge of a Los Angeles building. Ford then randomly shows up and tries to coax his former friend into jumping to his hairy death; apparently the two had a falling out after the Wookie slept with Ford's wife. Kimmel convinced the actor to think about all the good times they shared, prompting a montage of massages and Connect Four games soundtracked by the smash 25 single. The Millennium Falcon co-pilots are soon reunited and hug out their differences.
In a special Star Wars edition of Lie Witness News, Kimmel's fake news crew hit the streets of Los Angeles to ask people about important current events. However, instead of actual news stories, the lie witnesses are trolled with inquiries about Admiral Ackbar's foreign policies and climate change on Hoth.
As for the interviews themselves, there was nothing too revelatory regarding The Force Awakens' top-secret plot – the actors told Kimmel they weren't even allowed to bring their scripts home with them at night during filming – so fans will need to wait until the film's December 18th release for answers. However, Abrams did tell the world what the first spoken word in The Force Awakens is:
