Britney Spears' turbulent life in the spotlight is the focus of a new Lifetime biopic, Britney Ever After. The extended trailer shows how Spears' (portrayed by actress Natasha Bassett) tender days as a teenage pop superstar devolved into chaos. As Bassett's Spears states in a blunt Louisiana drawl: "I'm not gonna sugarcoat it and say I was fine."
The trailer teases some of the most infamous moments from Spears' chaotic years such as shaving her head, taking an umbrella to a car, her marriage to Kevin Federline and controversial performance at the 2007 VMAs. Still, the clip ends with a burst of redemption as Spears takes the stage in full force once again.
Britney Ever After airs February 18th on Lifetime. The cast also includes Clayton Chitty as Federline, Nathan Keyes as Timberlake, Peter Benson as Spears' manager Larry Rudolph and Matthew Harrison and Nicole Oliver as Spears' parents James and Lynne.
