Watch Winterfell Lie in Ruins in New ‘Game of Thrones’ Teaser

Clip offers chilling hints at fates of key characters

A new trailer for the final season of Game of Thrones captures the destruction of Winterfell ahead of the show’s premiere, April 14th on HBO.

The short clip, titled “Aftermath,” tracks through a decimated and deserted Kingdom of the North while chilling audio from a recent battle filters in and out. The final moments of the teaser offer ominous clues about what’s to come as the camera passes over what looks to be Jaimie Lannister’s golden hand and Jon Snow’s sword, both buried in the snow.

The “Aftermath” clip arrives in the wake of two new official Game of Thrones teasers titled “Together” and “Survival.” A full trailer for the final season was released last month.

Season Eight of Game of Thrones will consist of just six episodes, though some may be as long as 90 minutes. Game of Thrones co-stars, and real life best friends, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams recently appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone, discussing the bond they formed while filming the show and its highly anticipated series finale.
