Watch Samantha Bee, Glenn Beck Eat Each Others’ Heads on ‘Full Frontal’

Hosts talk bridging partisan divides, avoiding catastrophic rhetoric

Samantha Bee and Glenn Beck wore snug Christmas sweaters, cautiously sized each other up and came together in the name of fighting for our constitutional rights in Trump’s America on Full Frontal Monday.

The comedian and The Blaze owner/host began with a frank exchange about how their respective audiences would view their sit-down. “My audience would like to stab you relentlessly in the eye,” Beck said, to which Bee replied, “My audience wants to kill me for normalizing a lunatic like yourself.”

Bee spoke about the importance of fostering non-partisan decency to stop Trumpism from destroying America. Beck copped to his controversial past, admitting that his rhetoric helped widen a divide in the country. This time, Beck warned people against intolerance and speculation on social media.

Beck also told Bee that while watching Full Frontal he noticed her exhibiting the same kind of “catastrophist” traits that defined his talk style, such as fear that the U.S. would fall into a dictatorship and that free speech would be stripped away. Bee quickly spun this moment of reflection back to Beck: “How does it feel, to you, that this is your legacy?” She joked, pointing at her face and body.

Bee and Beck bridged the weirdness of their meeting with a cagey handshake and a custom “strange bedfellows” cake featuring their likenesses. The unlikely pair cemented their newfound alliance by eating the other’s head.
