One of the most highly-anticipated interviews of the year aired last Sunday night, as Oprah Winfrey interviewed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for a special primetime event. Now, the entire special is being re-broadcast tonight on CBS.
Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special offered a revealing glimpse into the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who gave their first official joint televised interview since their engagement in 2017.
The special came less than a year after a controversial book, Finding Freedom, claimed that unrelenting pressure from palace officials and the media, pushed Harry and Meghan to leave the UK to strike out on their own. This was the first major interview given by either of them since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties last year.

After the success of its initial airing last weekend, CBS is re-broadcasting Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special tonight, Friday, March 12th at 8pm EST and 8pm PST. The original airing was watched by more than 17 million viewers — the largest primetime audience for any entertainment special since the Oscars last year — so it makes sense that CBS would give audiences another chance to watch the Harry and Meghan interview on TV.

There were a number of surprising revelations made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the special, living up to Oprah’s teaser in the trailer that promised that, “There is no subject that’s off limits.”

In the book, Finding Freedom (which was reportedly approved by Markle), the authors described Harry and Meghan as a “forward-thinking couple who are unafraid to break with tradition, determined to create a new path away from the spotlight.”
Indeed, the special sees the Duke and Duchess discussing their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family, while confronting rumors about everything from their marriage, to pregnancy, to the scrutiny Markle has received from the press. Meghan and Prince Harry are also address rumors surrounding their current relationship with the Queen (as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton), which has been rumored to be frosty at times (Harry did confirm in a clip with James Corden last week that the Queen has been on video chats with him and Markle’s son, Archie, dispelling any talk of tension).
Oprah also asked the royal couple about how they’ve handled the intense pressure of being in the public eye, and about how Markle’s biracial upbringing has affected her relationships with the British public, and coverage of her in the press.
