Watch Donald Trump’s Hair Get Navy Seal Protection in Cut ‘SNL’ Sketch
Donald Trump served as the host of this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, and while the episode managed to squeeze in the Republican presidential candidate dancing to Drake and beefing with Larry David, not every sketch starring Trump made it to air. One skit, titled “Donald Trump’s Hair,” was cut for time, but SNL shared the five-minute-long clip on their official YouTube channel Wednesday.
“Donald Trump’s Hair” stars SNL cast members Taran Killam, Cecily Strong, Bobby Moynihan and Jay Pharoah in the role of Scalp Team 6, a specially trained team that is shrunk down to microscopic size in order to protect President Trump’s hair from its deadliest adversary: wind. The team is called into action when Trump travels to meet with Vladimir Putin in breezy Russia. The Scalp Team 6 members are then picked off one by one by Trump’s deadly do, which for some reason houses a Yeti.
As The Daily Beast notes, one reason that the sketch may have been cut was its likeness to a Simpsons short that premiered four months ago, with Homer Simpson similarly shrunken down to Fantastic Voyage-style to explore Trump’s bizarre follicle forest. It’s also possible the SNL sketch just wasn’t funny enough for the main show, as the skit’s dearth of audience laughter can attest.
