Watch ‘Broad City’ Take Bed, Bath and Beyond by Storm
On Season One of Broad City, Abbi Jacobson leveled an epic tirade at her dumb roommate’s boyfriend, Bevars, after he threw out all her Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons. It was an impressive show of devotion to the department store, which Abbi takes to ridiculous heights in this hilarious new bit from the breakout Comedy Central show’s second season.
In the clip, Abbi and her cohort Illana Glazer (in the show, they go by Abbi Abrams and Ilana Wexler) peruse the aisles of Bed, Bath & Beyond in search of a gift for Glazer’s frequent hook-up, Lincoln, a dentist played by comedian Hannibal Buress. After Abbi suggests she get him a ravioli attachment for his pasta maker — “He makes a different kind [of pasta] every Sunday, it’s on his blog… ‘The Al Dente Dentist'” — the pair bump into one of Abbi’s many BB&B buddies. What follows is a brilliant, protracted handshake packed with foot taps and hand claps that’s immediately one-upped by the Irish jig/dosey doe dance Abbi does with the next employee she sees.
The new clip comes on the heels of Broad City‘s informative, and catastrophic, tips for escaping an awkward holiday party (made for Comedy Central’s “Non-Denominational Christmas Special”), and the wild official trailer for Season Two, which has everything from twerking and bong hits, to “titty chips” and Seth Rogen shouting at a kitten.
Broad City returns with 10 new episodes on January 14th. Until then, check out Jacobson and Glazer’s guide to their favorite Season One moments, including the finale’s cold open, which boasted a Missy Elliott homage and a Drake song. “When we saw the final cut…I don’t know what giving birth is like, but I imagine that’s how it feels,” Glazer told Rolling Stone. “Just seeing this thing you’ve incubated for so long and then boom, it’s here.”
