‘SNL’ Veterans Seth Meyers, Michael O’Brien Unite for New NBC Sitcom

‘Saturday Night Live’ creator Lorne Michaels will co-produce series ordered for half-hour pilot

Late Night host Seth Meyers, former Saturday Night Live writer Mike O’Brien and SNL creator Lorne Michaels are teaming up to produce a half-hour pilot for NBC, Deadline reports.

The show, formerly dubbed AP Bio, will focus on a “hilariously cynical Ivy League professor who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school biology teacher where he imposes his unorthodox teaching style and uses the kids to plot out revenge on those who wronged him.” Meyers, O’Brien and Michaels will executive produce alongside Mike Shoemaker (Saturday Night Live) and Andrew Singer (30 Rock, Portlandia).

O’Brien joined SNL in 2009, working as a staff writer and short filmmaker; he became a featured player for the 2013-2014 season but rejoined the writing staff the following year before his departure. Meyers worked with O’Brien during the former’s lengthy tenure on the sketch show, from 2001 to 2014.

Michaels’ Broadway Video production company also produces SNL, Late Night With Seth Meyers and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
