See Red-Band Trailer for Adam Sandler’s ‘The Do-Over’
Netflix has unveiled the first full look at The Do-Over, their upcoming comedy starring Adam Sandler and David Spade. The 30-second teaser hinted at the film’s basic premise: A miserable family man played by Spade is given a “do-over” after faking his death and forming a new identity thanks to his childhood friend and conman, played by Sandler. The red-band trailer shows all the trouble the two men get into in their new lives, including gunfights, threesomes with Luis Guzman, boat explosions, roofies and vehicular manslaughter.
The Do-Over is the second of four films Sandler’s Happy Madison production company will make exclusively for the streaming service, following 2015’s controversial Western comedy Ridiculous 6. Despite the uproar over that film’s stereotyping of Native Americans, the comedy still managed to become the most streamed movie after 30 days in Netflix’s history, Vulture notes. Steven Brill, the film’s director, previously teamed with Sandler on Little Nicky and Mr. Deeds.
The Do-Over premieres on Netflix on May 27th.
