Ryan Seacrest Extends ‘American Idol’ Contract
Host will stay on the show for at least two more seasons
Ryan Seacrest has signed on to at least two more seasons as the host of American Idol, Reuters reports. Seacrest, who has hosted the show for all of its 11 seasons to date, is said to be making $15 million per season with the new contract extension, but that figure has not been officially confirmed.
“It’s been a wild ride, and I’m excited for my journey with American Idol to continue,” Seacrest said in a statement. Many industry insiders had been speculating that the host would jump ship, following in the footsteps of fellow Idol mainstays Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.
