Run the Jewels, B-52’s Top ‘Portlandia’ Season Seven Guest List

Abbi Jacobson, Rachel Dratch, Vanessa Bayer also set to visit Fred and Carrie

Run the Jewels, the B-52's, Abbi Jacobson and Rachel Dratch are among the numerous guest stars slated to appear on Season Seven of 'Portlandia.'

Run the Jewels and the B-52’s are among the numerous special guests set to join Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein on Season Seven of Portlandia, which begins January 5th.

IFC announced the show’s full slate of guest stars which features plenty of big comedy names including Broad City‘s Abbi Jacobson, Saturday Night Live‘s Vanessa Bayer and alum Rachel Dratch, Tim Heidecker, Andy Richter, Judy Greer (Archer), Jessica St. Clair (Bridesmaids), Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite) and Laurie Metcalf (Horace and Pete). NBA star and Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard will cameo as well.

Portlandia will also welcome back Steve Buscemi – who’s played a celery salesman and directed several episodes – Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz and Orange Is the New Black‘s Natasha Lyonne. Twin Peaks star Kyle MacLachlan will return as Portlandia‘s beloved mayor.

Both Run the Jewels and the B-52’s join a long list of musicians to visit Portlandia. Last season, the show recruited Glenn Danzig for a sketch featuring Armisen and Brownstein’s weirdo goth characters, while the Flaming Lips appeared in an episode centered around the Portland music festival, Pickathon. Other artists to guest on the show include Jack White, No Doubt, Eddie Vedder, Aimee Mann, Annie Clark, Jeff Tweedy, Josh Homme and Paul Simon.

Along with their their planned Portlandia cameo, Run the Jewels will release their new LP January 13th. The duo of Killer Mike and El-P have unveiled several songs including “Legend Has It,” “Talk to Me” and “2100,” featuring Boots. They’ll embark on a North American tour in support of the album January 11th in Philadelphia.
