‘Parks and Rec’ Losing Rob Lowe, Rashida Jones

Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones are leaving Parks and Recreation. According to Buzzfeed, Lowe and Jones will make their departure in February after the 13th episode of the upcoming sixth season.
“They are wonderful, funny, committed actors, they’ve been a huge part of the Parks and Rec family, and we think we have a great Pawnee send-off in the works for them,” Mike Schur, executive producer of Parks and Rec said.

Season Five ended with Lowe’s and Jones’ characters, Chris Traeger and Ann Perkins, trying to have a baby together, and it’s expected that Season Six will pick up where the last one left off.
“We’ve been working on their storyline (on and off) for four seasons now, and heading into this year, with the two of them contemplating parenthood, it felt like a natural time to move them into the next phase,”Schur said.
Jones has been a series regular since the show’s premiere in 2009, playing the best friend to Amy Poehler’s wacky Leslie Knope. Lowe first appeard on the show as a guest in Season Two, but later landed a recurring role.
Parks and Recreation will return for an hour-long season premiere on September 26th.
