NBC’s small-town politics sitcom Parks and Recreation has already nabbed cameos from big Washington D.C. names, now the show will see another when Newt Gingrich appears later this season, The Daily Beast reports.

But unlike the recent cameo from Leslie Knope-approved heartthrob Vice President Joe Biden, Gingrich’s guest turn was totally unexpected: The cast and crew ran into the former GOP presidential candidate while shooting in an Indianapolis diner and figured out how to work him into the scene. “It was completely random chance,” co-creator Mike Schur said. “But you can’t pass up an opportunity like that.”
The first episode of Parks‘ latest season also featured appearances from Sen. John McCain, Olympia Snowe and Barbra Boxer. No word yet on when the episode featuring Gingrich is set to air.
