Netflix: ‘No Question’ That ‘Arrested Development’ Will Return

There is “no question” that Arrested Development has a future on Netflix, according to a company executive who said it’s just a matter of working out the logistics. Ted Sarandos, chief content officer for Netflix, said there will either be more episodes of the quirky comedy or a movie, Reuters reports.
The biggest issue to resolve is one of timing: Sarandos said Netflix is working on scheduling with the show’s robust cast of actors, who are currently involved with other projects. “It’s still speculative,” he said at “The Grill,” a conference hosted by Hollywood website The Wrap.

Netflix revived Arrested Development for a fourth season after Fox canceled the show in 2006. The video company has made a point of offering original content over the past year, with Kevin Spacey’s House of Cards, the prison drama Orange Is the New Black and the horror series Hemlock Grove, all of which are returning for second seasons. The service is also home to Ricky Gervais’ new series Derek. Netflix is adding new programs to its catalog this fall, include comedy specials from Aziz Ansari and Russell Peters.
