Learn ‘Broad City’s Tips for Escaping Awkward Holiday Party Encounters
Fear not, holiday get-together outcasts: the oddballs at Broad City have you covered. In their hilarious video for Comedy Central’s “Non-Denominational Christmas Special,” series co-stars and primary writers Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer offer a checklist of signature moves for turning an “awkward Christmas party into a holiday hootenanny” – from the ordinary (bringing a gift) to the absurd (throwing a Molotov cocktail upon exit).
“Do you loathe going to holiday parties because you’re a modern human being who doesn’t believe in God?” Glazer asks to open the clip. She and Jacobson then arrive at their Christmas hang-out – only to be immediately annoyed by a craft beer-drinking “hipster libertarian.” In order to escape his wrath, the duo take their own advice by hiding out and getting stoned in the bathroom. There, they earn themselves a peak inside their hostess’ medicine cabinet, discovering revelatory items like “individualized flossers” and “boner pills.”
Glazer ingests one of the aforementioned erectile enhancers – a bad move that culminates in leg humping. But her humiliation illustrates Jacobson’s next tip, “Always see what happens first before trying it yourself.” With her friend distracted by a sexual rampage, Jacobson shares her most hilarious party trick: “If you need to avoid a mistletoe kiss from a mansplaining creep, you can craft a herpes sore from a piece of peppermint bark.”
The Comedy Central breakout series will return for a 10-episode second season on January 14th. In the meantime, fans can check out a wild trailer, which teases Jacobson and Glazer’s insane New York City misadventures – from twerking to bong hits to “titty chips” to Seth Rogen shouting at a kitten.
