Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2016 Emmy Awards on ABC. This year’s ceremony – which will air live from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Sunday, September 18th at 8 p.m. EST – marks the comedian’s second hosting stint, following the 2012 ceremony, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“I am excited to be hosting the Emmys again,” Kimmel said in a statement. “I have a feeling I’m going to be great.” The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host also confirmed the news on Twitter, writing, “I am hosting the #Emmys on Sunday Sept 18. Until then, have a great summer.”
Nominations for the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will be revealed Thursday, July 14th.
Last year’s ceremony – which featured big wins for Game of Thrones and Veep – was hosted by Andy Samberg, who added his wacky comedic touch throughout the evening. Kimmel appeared to introduce the Lead Actor – Comedy Series category, delivering a long bit about his power as announcer and eating part of the official envelope.
