‘Girl With Dragon Tattoo’ Sequel Delayed Past 2013

The sequel to last year’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is still in the works and will not be released next year as had been expected, reports Entertainment Weekly.
According to a source close to the film, screenwriter Steven Zaillian, who also penned Dragon Tattoo, is still working on the script for The Girl Who Played With Fire, and the production cannot proceed until he’s finished. The source added that while a release date at this point is unknown, the film is moving forward.
Dragon Tattoo stars Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig are both locked in to return as protagonists Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist, respectively. No one is attached yet to direct, though Dragon Tattoo director David Fincher remains the first choice and has yet to rule out helming the sequel.
Zaillian last year talked with Rolling Stone about his screenwriting process and working with Fincher.
