‘Ghostbusters’ Theme Gets Glowing Vinyl Reissue for Record Store Day

Who ya gonna call? Your local record store. The stellar release line-up for this year’s Record Store Day celebration just got even better thanks to an exclusive, glow-in-the-dark 10-inch vinyl edition of Ray Parker Jr.’s iconic Ghostbusters theme. One thousand copies will be released for the April 19th event, in honor of the film’s 30th anniversary.

Along with the groovy original track, the vinyl will feature an instrumental version, a dance remix and (the obvious standard of any exclusive release) a dub version. Take a look at the many other releases on the Record Store Day website.
Of course, Ray Parker Jr. isn’t the only music heavyweight on this year’s RSD bill. The list also includes the Flaming Lips‘ bong-friendly hour-long single, a remastered version of Joy Division’s debut EP, a new four-song EP from Bruce Springsteen, and R.E.M.‘s Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions.
Other major exclusives include Green Day‘s 18-track demo set featuring unreleased tracks, LCD Soundsystem‘s final concert on a five-LP set and Neil Young‘s Official Release Series Discs 5 – 8 box set, which includes analog-remastered vinyl versions of Time Fades Away, On the Beach, Tonight’s the Night and Zuma. The event’s full list of releases is available now.
