Fred Durst Developing Drama for the CW

The CW is developing a new one-hour drama with Fred Durst called, The Noise, which will be based on the life of the Limp Bizkit frontman, TV Guide reports.

The show will follow one young man’s journey from a volatile home to rock superstardom with his new band, à la Durst’s own rise with Limp Bizkit: The nu-metal heroes formed in 1994 and hit it big around the turn of the millennium with smashes like their cover of George Michael’s “Faith,” as well as originals “Nookie” and “Break Stuff.” The show is being developed through CBS TV Studios, with Durst serving as co-executive producer on the script, which is being written by Miles Feld.

 This isn’t Durst’s first foray into television. The frontman appeared as a bartender on a few episodes of Fox’s hit medical drama House and had a role in the 2005 NBC apocalypse mini-series Revelations. Most recently, in 2011, the frontman starred in a sitcom CBS was developing called Douchebag, which found Durst playing an aging rocker trying to balance his celebrity and family life. Durst’s recent TV work, however, hasn’t distracted him from Limp Bizkit: Last year the band signed a surprise deal with Cash Money Records (the home of Lil Wayne and Birdman) and they’re expected to release a new album in 2014.
