Turns out insulting the TV show you’ve spent 10 years working on can lead to misunderstandings with your colleagues, prompting Two and a Half Men actor Angus T. Jones to apologize for calling the sitcom “filth,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed,” the actor said in a statement that likened the cast and crew to “an extension of my family.” Jones, 19, who plays Jake Harper on the show, also thanked creator Chuck Lorre, Warner Bros. and CBS, which airs the sitcom, “for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them.”

Jones, who recently became a born-again Christian, said in a video for the Christian group Forerunner that he no longer wanted to be on Two and a Half Men. “Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth,” he urged. His apology didn’t retract or alter that characterization.

The show also stars Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher, who replaced Charlie Sheen last year after Sheen was fired for public tirades insulting Lorree and the producers.
