‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Pulls $140 Million in Six Days

Andrew Garfield-Emma Stone reboot rakes in the cash

The Amazing Spider-Man pulled in a hefty $140 million in its six-day debut. Sony's reboot starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone raked in $65 million over its first weekend and has earned $341.2 million worldwide over two weekends of international release.

The $220 million flick started off slow in comparison to the previous Spider-Man trilogy, with 2002's Spider-Man pulling in $144.1 million, 2004's Spider-Man 2 with $180.1 million and 2007's Spider-Man 3 with $176.2 million after six days. Yet the new film broke a box office record for Tuesday openings, reeling in $35 million in the U.S. and Canada on its first day.
