In addition to Alec Baldwin‘s Saturday Night Live duties, the actor has booked another live gig on NBC after securing a role in the network’s live staging of A Few Good Men.

Baldwin will portray Colonel Jessup in the live rendition of the Aaron Sorkin-penned drama, the same “You can’t handle the truth!” role that earned Jack Nicholson a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination in 1992.

“Alec is one of our greatest actors,” Sorkin said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter. “Having him play this role — live onstage for a television audience — is a dream come true. This will be a brand-new take on Nathan Jessup, and I expect that Alec is going to bust through TV screens and right into living rooms.”

Baldwin is no stranger in helping to bring plays to the big and small screen: The actor previously appeared in adaptations of Talk Radio, Glengarry Glen Ross and Prelude to a Kiss.

NBC’s A Few Good Men live broadcast was initially announced in 2016 with a 2017 broadcast planned. However, the project was delayed as the network struggled to find an actor to fill the Jessup role. When A Few Good Men does air in late- 2018, it will be the first live production of a Broadway drama on television in over 50 years.

In June, Baldwin revealed that he would return to SNL for the upcoming season to reprise his Emmy-nominated role of Donald Trump, but admitted he’d scale back his appearances on the upcoming season due to a busy schedule.

“Yea, we’re going to fit that in. I think people have enjoyed it,” Baldwin told CNN, adding that his Trump appearances on SNL will now amount to “a couple celery sticks of that now and then but not a whole meal.”

Baldwin, as his Trump caricature, will also co-author the book You Can’t Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year as President Donald J. Trump.
