Does the world really need a Space Jam reboot LeBron James? Maybe. It can't hurt that the director tapped for the project, Justin Lin, is best known for his work on the Fast & Furious franchise, and James has shown he has acting chops. Even though there's hardly any info to go on, like what other NBA stars might be in the movie or if and when it will ever actually see the light of day, one thing that's for sure is that the Monstars are getting ready to take on whomever.
"It's the same story it's always been," Jimmy Butler says at the start of the new 90-second short-film by the Jordan Brand Defy that imagines a world where the Monstars are back and looking for a rematch. What human challenges them? Nope, not King James – Blake Griffin shows up to play the cartoon bad guys. And, of course, there's a cameo by Bugs Bunny.
While Defy is a commercial for Air Jordan XXXI and doesn't have any connection to the new Space Jam movie, we're supposed to see in the future, maybe Butler and Griffin are using this opportunity to try out for a chance to help James take on the very large cartoon bad guys in the next installment of the film.
