Like many of us, Will Smith has been getting back in shape after gym closures and some admitted over-indulgence during the Covid lockdown. Now, The Fresh Prince is helping his fans get back into shape too through a new partnership with Fitbit.
The fitness tracker brand announced today that Smith will join the Fitbit family as their newest ambassador. Working with Fitbit and his own training team, Smith is set to release an exclusive video series of wellness programs focusing on both physical and mental strength. The first entry, dropping September 27th, is designed to “set the tone for your day,” per a release. Further video sessions — all featuring Smith and his wellness team — will range from workouts to mindfulness training.
Smith’s series will be accessible exclusively through Fitbit Premium, the brand’s monthly subscription service on the Fitbit smartphone app. For $9.99 a month, or $80 per year, Fitbit Premium members get access to a plethora of video and audio classes, wellness stats and personalized insights such as a sleep breakdown — plus the new video series with Will Smith.
If you don’t already own a Fitbit device — or want an upgrade — check out their latest and greatest smartwatch: the Fitbit Sense. It combines the capabilities of a high-end smartwatch with extensive health and fitness features, including sleep cycle tracking, heart rate monitoring, music storage and more.
Back in May, Smith shared his commitment to getting back in shape via Instagram. Under an image of himself in boxer-briefs, the actor wrote “I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better. No more midnight muffins…this is it! Imma get in the BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!!!!!”
The post now has seven million likes and counting, with countless followers commending the actor on being so open about his fitness journey, and pledging to follow along for the ride.
As promised in the Instagram post, Smith’s fitness journey will also be chronicled and shared with fans in an upcoming YouTube series, “Best Shape of My Life.” Per CNN, the series will consist of six unscripted episodes and is being produced by Smith’s Westbrook Media.
Alongside his re-commitment to health, Smith is preparing to release his autobiography, Will. The book, co-written by Mark Mason, is releasing November 9th and can be preordered on Amazon now.
