If you’re in the market for new bedsheets and have already done your due diligence, chances are you’ve narrowed it down to two of the most popular online bedding brands: Brooklinen and Parachute. Both companies were born with the mission of ditching the retail markups by working directly with factories to manufacture their products, resulting in affordable, hotel-worthy sheets.
Parachute was founded in Venice, Calif., in 2014 by entrepreneur and CEO Ariel Kaye. Over on the East Coast, married duo Vicki and Rich Fulop launched Brooklinen the same year after a successful crowdfunding campaign. Both companies have since expanded from bedsheets to a full range of furnishings, home goods, bath and kitchen textiles and decor.
Depending on your locale, the two brands are also shoppable offline. Parachute has multiple stores across the U.S. (including in L.A., New York, Dallas, Portland and more cities), while Brooklinen’s flagship is located in NYC’s Williamsburg neighborhood.
Parachute vs. Brooklinen: Which One Is Cheaper?
We’ll note that by “cheap” we’re referring to price, not quality. Parachute and Brooklinen both operate on a direct-to-consumer model, effectively cutting out the “the middleman” and wholesale markups.
The total cost of your bedsheets depends on the fabric that you choose and whether you shop for individual sheets or sets. Brooklinen bedsheets range from $95 for a three-piece twin-size percale set, to $676 for a seven-piece heathered cashmere set for California king beds. Parachute’s sheets go for $109 for a three-piece twin-size percale set to upwards of $900 for a Cali king six-piece set.
Parachute vs. Brooklinen: Which One Has a Better Selection?
In addition to pricing, here’s what else to know about Parachute and Brooklinen’s bedding offerings:
Fabrics/Materials: Parachute’s bedding and Brooklinen’s Classic, Luxe and Linen bedding are certified by Oeko-Tex, which means every material (from the threads to the finishing on zippers) doesn’t contain chemicals and other substances that are harmful to your health. Both brands offer materials such as percale (a breathable matte cotton fabric), sateen (which has a more lustrous finish) and linen. Parachute also offers bedsheets in brushed cotton, while Brooklinen’s materials include heathered cashmere.
Sizes: Both companies offer bedding separates (top and fitted sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers) and sets in sizes twin, twin XL, full, queen, king and Cali king.
Sets: If you’re the type of sleeper that ends up kicking off the top sheet, you won’t mind that Parachute prefers to exclude that layer from its standard bedding sets (you do have the option to add one). Brooklinen offers sets with and without a flat sheet.
Colors: Stylish slumbers are fans of both companies for their range of fashionable color palettes, from neutrals to cool prints. Parachute allows you to order swatches for $3 each so you can compare shades at home. We like that Brooklinen allows you to customize your sheet sets by mixing and matching colors.
Brooklinen vs. Parachute: What Are the Best Bedding Sets?
Here, we’ve compared the best bed sheet sets to consider from Brooklinen and Parachute. Read on to find out the difference between bedding fabrics such as percale and linen, as well as what you get with each brands’ sets.
Parachute Percale Sheet Set
Made from 100 percent certified long-staple Egyptian cotton, Parachute’s lightweight percale bedding is great for anyone who likes to sleep on crisp and cool sheets. This set includes a fitted sheet and two pillowcases, and you can add on a flat sheet if you prefer to sleep on an extra layer. It’s available in an array of colors and sizes.
Brooklinen Classic Starter Sheet Set
Brooklinen’s Classic sheets are made of 270-thread count percale that allows for breathability and is supposed to keep hot sleepers cool. This starter set includes a fitted sheet with handy labels that denote the long and short sides, and two standard or king-size pillowcases. Shop it in a variety of sizes and colors.
Parachute Sateen Sheet Set
Similar to its percale sheets, Parachute’s sateen bedding is spun from long-staple Egyptian cotton, but has a smoother texture. This set comes with a fitted sheet and two pillowcases, and you can add on a flat top sheet and choose from a range of colors and sizes.
Brooklinen Luxe Core Set
These Oeko-Tex-certified sateen sheets are made of long-staple cotton with a 480 thread count, so you can expect what the brand calls “buttery-smooth” bedding with a light sheen. The Luxe Core set comes with one each of fitted and flat sheets, plus two pillowcases. They’re available in all bedding sizes and in over 10 limited-edition solid colors and prints.
Parachute Brushed Cotton Venice Set
If you like the feeling of snoozing in your favorite T-shirt, you’ll dig Parachute’s brushed cotton bedding, which is made from 100 percent cotton that, according to Parachute, features a “buttery-soft finish.” The brand’s Venice set includes a fitted sheet, two pillowcases and a duvet cover, and you have the option to add a top sheet as well as a choice of three colors. For every purchase of its Venice sets, the company donates to nonprofit organization Nothing But Nets, which provides insecticide-treated bed nets to people in sub-Saharan Africa to help reduce malaria.
Brooklinen Linen Move-In Bundle
Whether you’re cohabiting or you just prefer a pillow-filled bed, Brooklinen’s convenient Move-In bundle comes with fitted and flat sheets, a comforter and duvet cover, two pillows, four pillowcases and complimentary non-toxic laundry detergent from The Laundress. You can also personalize your pillows and comforter by size, fill type (down or down alternative) and firmness or weight. This set is available in all sizes and in multiple colors.

Brooklinen Heathered Cashmere Hardcore Sheet Bundle
For the chillier months, Brooklinen’s heathered cashmere sheets are the perfect blend of warmth and breathability. They’re made of a blend of 95 percent cotton and 5 percent Himalayan cashmere and feature a brushed finish. You’ll get everything that comes in the Core Sheet Set (fitted and flat sheets, and two pillowcases), plus a duvet cover with extra-long ties (so that your comforter stays put inside) and two extra pillowcases. We like that you can mix and match colors, and the set comes in sizes from full to Cali king.
