See Larry David’s ‘Bern Your Enthusiasm’ ‘SNL’ Parody

On the Larry David-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, the comedian combined his beloved HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm with his spot-on impersonation of Bernie Sanders for a masterfully orchestrated parody titled Bern Your Enthusiasm.
The sketch envisions what would happen if Sanders’ grassroots campaign was combined with David’s Curb neuroses, with the Vermont senator’s refusal to shake Leslie Jones’ “germ-infested, disgusting” hand ultimately resulting in the senator losing the Iowa caucus.
Cecily Strong and Bobby Moynihan portray the parody’s Jeff and Susie Greene, while Jay Pharoah drops in to play J.B. Smoove’s Curb character Leon. “I heard you didn’t want to shake a black woman’s hand,” Leon tells Sanders. “Listen, you need the black vote Bernie. You need to shake as many black women’s hands as you can. I don’t care if the hand has dookie on it. You shake that hand. You know why? You might get dookie on your hand, but you know what else you’ll get? A damn vote.”
Later, Sanders refuses to help a supporter pop her shoulder back in place after a car accident on the way to the polls. Both refusals come back to haunt Sanders as he loses the Iowa caucus to Hillary Clinton by 0.2 percent, or roughly five votes: the sick lady’s family and the injured driver, who gave their support to Clinton after encountering Sanders.
A photo of David as Sanders is also currently employed by the candidate’s social media accounts, as well as his official website. “Contribute your vacuum pennies,” the campaign asks. Sanders and David also appeared with one another in a sinking ship sketch.
