Following Tuesday night’s GOP debate, which gave Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump a nationwide platform to spout more incendiary remarks, Jimmy Kimmel Live deployed its Lie Witness News team to see whether people would believe that anything could come out of Trump’s mouth.
Hollywood Blvd. dwellers are quizzed about everything from Trump showing up at a rally wearing nothing but a diaper to the mogul’s Twitter fight with Hitler. One bystander perfectly encapsulates why even the most ridiculous fake Trump comment – “Guns don’t kill people, Marco Rubio’s cousins do” is plausible when he tells the Lie Witness News team, “It was quite a shock; coming from Donald Trump, not at all.”
However, things get creepy when Lie Witness News encounters actual Trump supporters who fully agree with the fake Trump quote, “If it’s brown, flush it down … to Mexico.” “I agree with him, yeah,” one perspective voter says.
Trump is scheduled to sit down with Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday night, an appearance that was delayed nearly two months after the mogul canceled on Kimmel during the late-night host’s Brooklyn residency in October.
