It turns out Donald Trump isn’t the only person who wants to make America great again.
Fresh off of his victory over Roger Goodell, Tom Brady joined WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan show on Tuesday to discuss the whole “Deflategate” ordeal, dispel rumors that his marriage to Gisele Bundchen was on the rocks and diss the Chris Mortensens of the world.
But after a “Make America Great Again” hat was spotted in his locker days after winning his “Deflategate” appeal, it was only a matter of time until he was asked about his ties with Trump, who has a history of calling Brady a “great friend” and “total winner.” It turns out their bromance has been brewing for more than a decade – and, like most things involving Donald Trump, it all began at a beauty pageant.

“I’ve known him since 2002. I judged one of his beauty pageants. Imagine that, I was a judge at a Miss USA Pageant in 2002. So I’ve known him for a long time,” Brady said. He always gives me a call and different types of motivation speeches at different times. Now that’s he’s running for president, he sent [Kraft] a hat and it found its way to my locker.”
Despite being buds who exchange motivational speeches, chop it up on the golf course from time to time and share a mutual admiration for UGGs, though, Brady isn’t quite ready to cast his presidential vote for Trump.
“I don’t know,” Brady said when asked about backing Trump’s bid for the White House. “That’s a good question. Honestly, he’s a good friend.”
