This October, Yusuf released his first new album since 2009's Roadsinger. Alongside new tracks like "I Was Raised in Babylon" and "Cat and the Dog Trap," the LP, Tell 'Em I'm Gone, contained covers of tunes like Edgar Winters' "Dying to Live" and Luther Dixon's "Big Boss Man."
Above, watch Yusuf and his band play another one of the covers, an arrangement of "You Are My Sunshine" that turns the standard into an emotional blues number. Surprisingly, the music video takes place in front of a Western backdrop, opening with the group walking toward the train station just after sundown.
After playing a series of European dates, Yusuf will begin a short North American tour at the end of the week. This opens at Toronto's Massey Hall on December 1, then continues with shows in Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
