Days after Travis Scott expressed his disappointment about not receiving a Grammy nomination, the rapper appeared on The Late Show with a medley of Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight tracks. With stage engulfed in smoke and a large animatronic bird towering over him, Scott performed "Sweet Sweet" and "Goosebumps."
Scott's Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight was edged out of the Best Rap Album nomination by Chance the Rapper's Coloring Book, Drake's Views, DJ Khaled's Major Key, Schoolboy Q's The Blank Face LP, De La Soul's And the Anonymous Nobody... and The Life of Pablo by Kanye West, who signed Scott to the label, G.O.O.D.
"I'm that person that I still feel confined, even though this year I've been on Number One albums," Scott told Rolling Stone in September. "I've been on two arena tours; I'm still confined to this fucking box. Kanye is the leading eagle, he's like the president who stands up for kids like us who have ideas. There's a lot of us out here that are birds, man. We all need to just fly."
