Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj gave a tropical take on their reggae-infused hit single "Side to Side" at the American Music Awards. The single appears on Grande's 2016 LP Dangerous Woman, which was released in May.
On a jungle set similar to Minaj's "Anaconda" video, Grande performed surrounded by male and female dancers executing acrobatic moves around her. Minaj performed from a large straw peacock chair and had her dancers hold her legs up as she powered through her verse. She joined the dancers and Grande towards the end.
The pair previously tackled the track at the MTV Video Music Awards where they did a light re-creation of the exercise and spin class-themed video they debuted the next day. Grande's latest album also featured collaborations with Lil Wayne, Future and Macy Gray. Minaj's most recent album was 2014's The Pinkprint, though she has been steadily releasing remixes of tracks like Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" — with her remix titled "Black Barbies" — and has continued to make guest appearances on various pop, rap and R&B hits.
