The Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida is an annual who's who of electronic music, constantly drawing the biggest names in EDM to the city's Bayfront Park. This year could feature the festival's most stacked lineup yet, as Skrillex, Tiesto, Avicii, David Guetta, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Armin Van Buuren and many more will serve as DJ headliners. Swedish House Mafia's Axwell^Ingrosso will also make their long-awaited U.S. debut as a duo at Ultra, which will invade downtown Miami from March 27th to 29th.
This year's live headliners will feature Bassnectar, Die Antwoord, Royskopp, Porter Robinson, Canadian singer Kiesza and more. So far, nearly 100 acts have been announced for the 2015 Ultra fest...and that's just "Phase 1" of the lineup, according to organizers. Check out the Ultra site for the full lineup as it stands now plus ticket information.
Ultra Music Festival's return to Miami doesn't come without some controversy: At the 2014 fest, a security guard was trampled by a mob of festivalgoers and hospitalized with severe brain hemorrhaging. The gatecrashers were "individuals not in possession of event tickets and who were determined to gain unauthorized entry," festival organizers said in a statement.
Miami mayor Tomás Regalado criticized organizers for failing to secure the venue's perimeter. "I think we should not have Ultra next year here," Regalado said at the time. "This incident should never have happened." However, Miami commissioners voted the following month against banishing the festival, ensuring Ultra would return to the city this year.
