Maren Morris got behind the wheel of her "'80s Mercedes" and made a pit stop at NBC's Today show Tuesday morning. It was her second TV appearance in under 24 hours, as the singer performed "My Church" on the network's Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon Monday night.
"'80s Mercedes" is the second single from Morris's debut LP, Hero, which was released June 3rd. "My Church," which reached the Top Ten and earned the Texan a gold-certified single, also scored two nominations at tonight's CMT Music Awards, with a nod for Female Video and Breakthrough Video of the Year. In addition to her recent and upcoming TV appearances, Morris has a dream-come-true opening slot on Keith Urban's recently launched Ripcord World Tour.
"We just kicked it off this past weekend and it's incredible," she told the Today co-hosts. "To watch him work every night, the crowd's amazing. It's been really fun."
The Ripcord Tour will hit Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Friday, June 10th, as part of the Carolina Country Music Fest, one day after Morris helps open this year's CMA Music Fest with an appearance at downtown Nashville's Riverfront stage. Then she's back in Tennessee on Sunday, June 12th, for an appearance at Bonnaroo in Manchester, before returning to the road with Urban.
