The Internet's Syd unveiled a sparse yet sensual new song, "Body," off her upcoming solo debut, Fin.
The MeLo-X-produced song opens with a deep bass groove that continues to rumble beneath steady hi-hat ticks, scattershot snare hits and Syd's hushed tones. "Body" takes several simple, evocative turns, like when the bass drops out for a lovely synth progression and Syd layers vocal tracks into a chorus of desire.
"Body" follows Syd's previously released single, "All About Me," which was produced by the Internet's Steve Lacy. Both tracks will appear on Fin, which arrives February 3rd. The album will also feature production from Hit-Boy, Haze and Rahki.
The Internet released their third album, Ego Death, in 2015, and along with Syd other members from the group are also prepping their own solo records. Producer and keyboardist Matt Martians will release The Drum Chord Theory Friday, January 27th, while Lacy is reportedly also prepping an album.
